Vision is all about understanding things as they are and imagining things as they could be. And it is the visionary leader who bridges the apparent wide gap between the two. All great visionary leaders have managed to do this towards achieving their vision in their field of activity. Barack Obama is just another visionary leader.
Obama, because of his unusual upbringing has the insight of an outsider which lends itself to objectivity. More over his goodness, intelligence and ambition has lead him on a path of discovery, character building, and reaffirmations in his ability and the ability of the American people. Thus he has understood and formulated a way to cut through the regression and yet continue to deliver the message that he believes in.
The thing that he worked out early in his life was the need for change in politics, as many concerned citizens would if they try to get to the root of all problems. It is towards this goal that Obama has focused on and built his mental resources on. In this process he has now successfully managed to cut through in large parts the divides of identity politics.
Today, Obama won the crucial North Carolina primary and almost tied with Clinton in the Indiana primary. His lead is now unassailable for all practical and ethical purposes. It will be soon time for America to look back and celebrate what it has achieved thus far but for now it can vote for Obama.
